Maxst's subsidiary e-book platform Bookio announced on the 14th that searches related to the Nobel Prize have surged by more than 330%.
Founded in 2014, Bookio is an e-book platform with over 100,000 digital contents, characterized by promoting a streaming-style reading experience that can be shared with multiple people. It also allows the creation, publication, and sharing of content in various formats and styles. In particular, the 'Real-time Reading Record Sharing' feature enables users to share their thoughts and impressions about books together. According to company officials, a 'Reading Nobel Prize Works Together' group has already been formed, where reading records and diverse opinions are being shared.
Bookio also has a feature called 'Commentary Book,' where someone well-versed in the book's content provides their thoughts and perspectives in the form of comments. Various comments on past Nobel Literature Prize winners and works by Han Kang are being provided in real-time through the platform.
A company representative said, "Bookio is a 'shared reading e-book platform' that offers a feature allowing readers to share real-time notes and highlights, enabling them to share thoughts and impressions on past Nobel Literature Prize-winning works." They added, "It promotes communication among readers and shares diverse interpretations of books, enriching the reading experience."
The autobiographical novel Empty Wardrobe by French author Annie Ernaux, who won the 2022 Nobel Literature Prize, is provided as a Commentary Book on the Bookio platform. A Commentary Book featuring popular YouTuber 'Gongbaek' also offers readers a new reading experience.
