At the weekend box office, where there were no notable new releases, the movie 'Veteran 2' maintained its top position.


According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 14th, over the past weekend (11th to 13th), 'Veteran 2' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan) attracted 145,970 viewers, securing the number one spot at the box office. Its revenue share was 24.6%. The film, which was released on the 13th of last month, has accumulated a total of 7,298,374 viewers. As a sequel to 'Veteran' (2015), which drew 10 million viewers, it generated strong buzz early on. It reached 5 million viewers within 9 days, riding a wave of success, but its momentum slowed as audience opinions became divided.


The movie 'Loves of the Big City' (directed by Lee Eon-hee), starring actors Kim Go-eun and Noh Sang-hyun and based on a novel of the same name, attracted 120,948 viewers over the weekend, ranking second. Released on the 1st of last month, it has drawn a total of 502,325 viewers. The animated film 'The Wild Robot' attracted 99,054 viewers, placing third, while the sequel to the 2019 film 'Joker,' titled 'Joker: Folie ? Deux' (47,610 viewers), ranked fourth. The re-released film 'The Notebook' (40,634 viewers) took fifth place. The animated film 'Your Color,' which opened on the 12th, started off in sixth place with 18,583 viewers.


The total number of moviegoers visiting theaters over the weekend was only 599,930. Due to the lack of many new releases, the number of viewers noticeably decreased. The atmosphere is expected to change when new Korean films are released this week. According to real-time reservation rates at 9 a.m., 'A Normal Family' (directed by Heo Jin-ho), starring actors Seol Kyung-gu and Kim Hee-ae, which opens on the 16th, holds a reservation rate of 16.1% (24,655 viewers). The action film 'Don't Touch Dirty Money,' starring Jung Woo and Kim Dae-myung, opening on the 17th, has a reservation rate of 11.7%, and 'Lim Young-woong│I'm Hero The Stadium' is at 8.7%. 'Veteran 2' trails behind with 4.3%.
