The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) will hold a commemorative event on the 15th at the Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Incheon to celebrate its 21st anniversary since establishment.
This event is designed as a forum to deliberate the blueprint and strategies for the next 20 years of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority together with experts and to share them with citizens from all walks of life.
Earlier, in March, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority launched the 'IFEZ Vision Strategy 2040 Task Force' and, over seven months, enhanced the completeness of the blueprint through surveys of all employees, internal and external environmental analyses, and consultations and cooperation with experts from various fields.
The 21st anniversary event of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will proceed in the order of the IFEZ 2040 Vision Forum, the IFEZ 2040 Vision Proclamation Ceremony, and the Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Festival, featuring various programs such as performances, lectures, experience booths, and flea markets where citizens can participate.
The forum will be an occasion to share the IFEZ 2040 vision and strategy under the theme of Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority’s challenge toward becoming a global top 10 city. Han Sang, former Chief Planner of the Incheon City First-Class City Planning Office and Honorary Professor of Architectural Engineering at Inha University, will serve as the chairperson. Following this, the vision proclamation ceremony will include a cultural lecture by composer Kim Hyung-seok, a percussion performance, a calligraphy performance, and a presentation of the IFEZ 2040 vision by Yoon Won-seok, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority.
Meanwhile, Gyeongwonjae will be open to the public from the 15th to the 17th, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Various spaces within Gyeongwonjae, including the VIP courtyard, will be organized into five themed zones (performance, exhibition, traditional games experience booths, flea market, and food zone) where citizens can participate.
On the day of the event, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority’s Instagram will hold a certification event for attendees of the IFEZ 2040 Vision Proclamation Ceremony, and at the Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Festival site, events with generous prizes such as hotel accommodation vouchers and smartwatches will be held.
Yoon Won-seok, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, said, "IFEZ is an international city equipped with a cutting-edge smart infrastructure harmonizing technology, environment, and humanity, attracting global attention," and added, "We hope many citizens will participate and enjoy the 21st anniversary commemorative event preparing for a new leap in 2040."
