Senco, a specialized company in electrochemical gas sensors, announced on the 14th that it has obtained the China Pattern Approval (CPA) certification, which includes explosion-proof certification and performance certification in China.
The China explosion-proof certification (CNEx) and CPA certification are legally required to sell portable gas detectors in the Chinese market. Senco secured the China explosion-proof certification and CPA certification for its main products: the portable single gas detector (SGTP), portable multi-gas detector (SP-MGT), aspirated portable multi-gas detector (SP-MGTP), and portable CO2 detector (iGAS).
With this certification, Senco can now actively enter the Chinese industrial portable gas detector market. Additionally, since early this year, Senco has been working closely with Chinese partners to expand into the Chinese market.
Senco has already completed the establishment of a sales network within China together with its Chinese partners. With the acquisition of the explosion-proof and CPA certifications, full-scale sales are expected to begin, potentially leading to increased revenue in the fourth quarter.
Although the Chinese market had relatively weak safety regulations compared to its rapid growth rate, the current rising interest in safety regulations within China has made the portable gas detector market one with high growth potential compared to other industries. The reason Senco and its Chinese partners hastened to build a sales network even before obtaining the explosion-proof and CPA certifications was to proactively respond to this market growth.
Ha Seung-cheol, CEO of Senco, stated, “With this certification, full-scale product sales in the Chinese market have become possible. Sales will commence immediately through the Chinese sales network of our local partners, which we secured quickly.”
He also said, “This portable detector certification will serve as a cornerstone for supplying gas detectors to semiconductor fabs in China. On-site evaluations are currently underway at SMIC, Rongxin Semiconductor, and Huawei fabs, and a substantial volume of supply is expected. Once the on-site evaluations are completed, Senco will face a new turning point.”
