Branch 1 (Siheung 1-dong Naraerang Kidsrang) Established Inside Religious Facility
Branch 2 (Aisaeng Playground) Converted Indoor Playground to Kids Cafe
Free During October Pilot Operation, Officially Open from November 1
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced the opening of the first and second Seoul-style Kids Cafes in Geumcheon-gu to create an environment where infants and toddlers can play safely and freely.
The first branch (Siheung 1-dong Naraerang Kidsrang) is located on the second floor of the Geumcheon Yangmun Church Community Center. The space, provided free of charge by the church, features play facilities for children aged 0 to 6.
With an area of approximately 190㎡, it can accommodate up to 19 infants and toddlers simultaneously. The comprehensive playground, designed to resemble Hoamsan Mountain, a famous landmark in Geumcheon-gu, offers visual enjoyment, while various play facilities are designed to enhance physical development and foster a sense of achievement in young children.
The ‘Imagination Playground,’ a play area exclusively for infants, is equipped with various educational tools to help build bonds between children and their guardians. Additionally, spaces such as a sand playground and fishing playground are provided where parents and children can play freely together.
The second branch (Aisessang Playground) is located on the first floor of the Hyundai Knowledge Industry Center and has been renovated from an existing indoor playground to operate as a Seoul-style Kids Cafe.
Covering about 180㎡, it can accommodate up to 18 infants and toddlers at the same time. In addition to existing play facilities like trampolines and play gyms, new zones such as the cypress wood zone, block play zone, and experience program zone have been added to offer a wider variety of play activities.
The first branch operates from Monday to Saturday, and the second branch operates from Tuesday to Sunday, both from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The usage fee is 3,000 KRW for two hours, but during the pilot operation period until October 31, it is free of charge. Reservations can be made in advance through the Seoul Our Neighborhood Care Portal website.
Since these are the first facilities of their kind in Geumcheon-gu, the district plans to address any issues identified during the pilot operation and officially open the cafes on November 1, 2024.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “With the opening of the first and second Seoul-style Kids Cafes in Geumcheon-gu, we hope to reduce the childcare burden on parents and provide a joyful space for children. We will continue to expand Seoul-style Kids Cafes that anyone in the community can use without burden.”
