On the 12th, Kang Su-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, attended the '2024 Yangju Hyanggyo Haengdan Autumn Concert' held at Yangju Hyanggyo to celebrate the season of harvest and abundance. He encouraged the efforts of the organizers and wished for the health and good fortune of the citizens.
The '2024 Yangju Hyanggyo Haengdan Autumn Concert' is part of the national heritage utilization project "Yangju Hyanggyo, Communicating with the Times," which achieved the remarkable feat of receiving the National Heritage Administration Award for two consecutive years from 2022 to 2023.
The event was attended by about 200 people, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun and Yoon Chang-cheol, Chairman of the Yangju City Council. The program opened with pre-event activities such as writing family mottos, rice cake pounding, and orchid experience.
The event featured traditional cultural performances including the 'Sound Resonance' by the Yangju Sangyeo and Hoeda-ji Sound group, a performance by the Yangju Sonori-gut Art Troupe, and a splendid guitar performance by the team 'Sori Hyanggi,' composed of members from the Okjeong 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Program.
Additionally, invited singer Lim Ju-ri performed trot music, and Hwang Ae-ran and Kim Shin-ho presented vocal and popular songs, receiving great applause from the attendees and concluding the event successfully.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, "I am pleased to hold an autumn concert full of romance on a perfect autumn night," and added, "I would like to once again express my deep gratitude to the Yangju Hyanggyo officials who organized today's event."
