Choi Tae-won and Noh So-young Attend Second Daughter Min-jung's Wedding... Seated Side by Side at the Head Table

Minjung Choi, the second daughter of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and Kevin Hwang, a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve officer, lit the wedding candle on the afternoon of the 13th at the Vista Hall of the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The wedding attracted public attention as it was held following the 'divorce of the century' between Chairman Chey Tae-won and Noh So-young, director of the Art Center Nabi.

The groom-to-be, Hwang, who is Chinese-American, was born in Indiana, USA, graduated from Harvard University and Stanford University with an MBA, and is currently serving as a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve officer in California. Minjung also enlisted voluntarily as a naval officer candidate in 2014, and the couple reportedly grew closer through their shared military background, leading to their marriage.

On the day, Chairman Chey and Director Noh met face-to-face for the first time since their divorce and were seated side by side at the bride’s parents’ table. Director Noh arrived at the venue around 11 a.m., two hours before the ceremony, and shortly after, Chairman Chey entered through the basement level 3 via a different vehicle.

SK family members including Chey Jae-won, Senior Vice Chairman and younger brother of Chairman Chey, Chey Ki-won, Chairman of the SK Happiness Foundation, cousin Chey Si-won, former chairman of SK Networks, and Chey Chang-won, Chairman of the SK Supex Council, also attended. Chey Si-won reportedly told reporters he felt "happy" about attending the wedding. Noh’s younger brother, Noh Jae-heon, director of the East Asia Culture Center and son of the late former President Noh Tae-woo, was also present.

Business leaders including Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong also attended. Among the heads of the four major conglomerates, LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo was the first to arrive around 12:20 p.m. Chairman Lee Jae-yong entered at 12:48 p.m., just before the wedding. The wedding was held privately with access strictly controlled so that only guests with prior invitations could enter. Some guests, including business leaders, entered the venue via the basement level 3 parking lot, and the basement level 1 entrance leading to Vista Hall was also strictly controlled. It was reported that around 500 guests attended the wedding.
