Lee Jae-myung and Cho Kuk Joint Rally in Geumjeong, Busan on the 14th... Support for Democratic Party Candidate Kim Kyung-ji

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Cho Kuk, leader of the Innovation Party, will jointly support Kim Kyung-ji, the Democratic Party candidate for the Busan Geumjeong District Mayor by-election on October 16.


On the morning of the 13th, Cho said on Facebook, "After receiving a call from Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung yesterday, I decided to visit Geumjeong District on the 14th (Monday) to support the Busan Geumjeong District Mayor election."


He added, "Since the beginning of this by-election, the Innovation Party and I have repeatedly pledged that even if the Geumjeong District Mayor candidate is unified as the Democratic Party's Kim Kyung-ji, we will campaign in support."

Cho said, "The Innovation Party has been preparing to support according to the Democratic Party's Busan election strategy after the candidate unification and has been waiting for the Democratic Party's request."


Earlier, the Democratic Party and the Innovation Party agreed on a candidate unification method on the 4th, conducted public opinion polls over two days on the 5th and 6th, and as a result, Kim was selected as the unified candidate.


Cho said, "With only a few days left until the vote, although there is great regret at the election camps in Yeonggwang and Gokseong, Jeollanam-do, I am gladly going to Busan to serve the cause of judging the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," and urged, "I ask party members, comrades, and supporters in Yeonggwang and Gokseong to run on my behalf."


Former Innovation Party candidate Ryu Je-sung, who lost in the candidate unification public opinion poll, will also join Cho in the support campaign.
