Doing Our Best to Prepare Practical Measures for Small Business Owners
Establishing Various Foundations to Revitalize the Market Economy
Special Guarantee and Interest Support Programs for Small Business Owners
Uljin-gun, which is preparing for the future by achieving results that are difficult to obtain at the county level, such as the 'Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex' and 'Hydrogen City', is making steady progress.
Along with preparations for the future, Uljin-gun is seeking practical measures and support plans to ensure that the foundational industries, which are the backbone of the local economy, can firmly take root.
▲ Establishing the Foundation for Market Economy Revitalization
Uljin-gun has been working to revitalize the market economy by establishing an Uljin-style industrial base.
First, various programs have been organized and implemented to invigorate traditional markets. Uljin Bajige Market is being transformed into a specialized cultural tourism market, Heungbu Market in Buk-myeon is undergoing modernization, and efforts are being made to secure public project selection for the modernization of Jukbyeon and Hupo Markets.
In addition, the operation of the Uljin Love Card, a local gift certificate, and incentive benefits have stimulated local consumption and had a positive effect on increasing sales at traditional markets and neighborhood commercial districts.
Furthermore, the county has promoted and implemented policies and support projects that can provide practical help to the market economy even in difficult economic conditions, such as facility repairs and environmental improvements for traditional markets, wage support for hiring middle-aged employees at small businesses, and additional incentives for the Good Price Store Uljin Love Card program.
▲ Strengthening Support for Stable Management of Small Businesses
Along with laying the foundation for revitalizing the market economy, Uljin-gun is also promoting support for small businesses facing difficulties due to high prices and high interest rates.
Special guarantee support is planned for small businesses located in Uljin-gun that are struggling to secure funds, as well as an interest subsidy program that covers the difference in loan interest rates for small businesses.
This project provides special guarantees for loans up to 50 million KRW for small businesses (excluding restricted industries) operating in Uljin-gun when the Gyeongbuk Credit Guarantee Foundation issues a credit guarantee certificate, and subsidizes up to 5% per year of the interest difference for up to two years.
Currently, agreements for special guarantees and interest subsidies are underway. In particular, Uljin-gun plans to expand the interest subsidy rate from the existing 2% to 5% to further reduce the burden of loans for small businesses.
Other support measures include wage subsidies for substitute workers for small business owners on maternity leave, consulting and support for improving the internal and external environment of small business stores, and strengthening support so that local small businesses can maintain stable operations.
▲ Uljin-gun Where Residents Prosper
The sole goal of Uljin-gun's administration is to create a community where residents live happily and prosperously.
To achieve this goal, the county is making every effort not only to take the lead in the hydrogen industry as a future growth engine but also to establish a competitive Uljin-style industrial base so that current residents can prosper and improve their livelihoods.
Uljin-gun will continue to recognize that support for small businesses is a crucial pillar for local economic development and will keep discovering and implementing practical and sustainable support measures.
County Governor Son Byeongbok said, "We will spare no effort to provide maximum support so that small business owners can operate their businesses stably," and added, "We will do our best to build a foundation where hard work leads to results and restore vitality to the Uljin-gun economy."
