Revealed at By-election Campaign Rally
"Will Be a Starting Point for Reform Following Public Sentiment Toward Government and Ruling Party"
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, stated on the 12th, "I believe that personnel reform in the Presidential Office is necessary to dispel the public's concerns and worries about First Lady Kim Geon-hee."
On the same day, during a campaign rally supporting the by-election for the mayor of Geumjeong District, Busan, Han responded to reporters' questions about the need for personnel reform in the Presidential Office related to suspicions surrounding the First Lady. He emphasized, "I think that personnel reform in the Presidential Office will be an important starting point for the government and the ruling party to reform, change, and respond to public sentiment."
Regarding the prosecution's decision on indicting First Lady Kim in connection with the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations, Han added, "A result that aligns with law, principles, and common sense is a result that the public can accept." Earlier, on the 10th, Han had stated, "The prosecution must present a result that the public can accept."
In response to criticism within the party questioning whether his remarks implied conducting a 'public opinion trial,' Han said, "That is a misunderstanding," and added, "Are you saying that the public holds views contrary to law, principles, and common sense? I do not see it that way."
