Man in His 30s Detained and Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Quasi-Rape and Forced Molestation

A male BJ in his 30s has been handed over to the prosecution on charges of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman during an internet live broadcast.

According to the police on the 12th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul arrested and sent Kim, a man in his 30s, to prosecution last month on the 9th on charges of quasi-rape and sexual assault.

Kim is accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a live broadcast on an internet broadcasting platform recently. It is known that the woman was unconscious after taking a sleep-inducing drug when the assault occurred.

Kim broadcasted the incident live on the internet, and the victim was unable to resist. Notably, more than 200 viewers were connected at the time, but no one reported the incident to the police.

The victim reported to the police after receiving a message from someone saying, "The scene of the sexual assault was broadcast on the internet, so please report it to the police," and "I am contacting you because it seems you do not remember anything." The police investigation confirmed that Kim was the perpetrator, and additional charges revealed that he had committed similar sexual crimes against another woman on the same platform a few days before the incident.

During the investigation, the police also identified additional sexual crime charges against Kim involving another woman. However, Kim reportedly stated during police questioning that "there was no coercion."

The victim has no memory of the incident but is concerned about secondary damage due to the distribution of the video, as the footage still exists.

Meanwhile, there have been criticisms that the internet broadcasting platform's response was lukewarm. This is because the broadcast was not stopped through monitoring for sexual crime content. In fact, even if measures such as account suspension or forced withdrawal are taken on the broadcast, it is known that the channel can be reopened under a different account, making continuous control impossible.
