The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 11th that it will accept applications for athlete opportunity income for four weeks from October 21 to November 18.

This project was promoted with the purpose of creating a stable foundation for athletic activities by providing opportunity income for athletes' social value-creating activities, thereby contributing to the development of sports in Guri City.

The recipients are athletes aged 19 or older who are active players, coaches, referees, or player managers registered as residents in Guri City as of October 2, whose individual recognized income is below 120% of the median income (2,674,134 KRW per month). They will receive 1.5 million KRW once a year.

Applicants can apply by accessing ‘Gyeonggi Minwon 24’ or by visiting the local administrative welfare center in person or through an authorized proxy to submit the application form.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “Through the Guri City athlete opportunity income project, we support athletes who have not received proper compensation to be recognized for their value, to continue their activities stably, and to pursue their dreams.”

Meanwhile, applicants who receive support from other social security systems such as basic livelihood security recipients should consult with the welfare officer in advance, as receiving opportunity income may affect their eligibility.

For more details, please check the announcements on the Guri City website or contact by phone.
