Guri City Hosts the 39th Guri Citizens' Day Event

Spent Time of Communication and Harmony with Over 2,000 Citizens

Baek Kyung-hyun, mayor of Guri City, is conducting the '39th Guri Citizens' Day' event held at Guri Hangang Citizens' Park on the 10th.

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 11th that it successfully held the 39th Guri Citizens' Day event on the 10th at Guri Hangang Citizens' Park, with the participation of over 2,000 citizens.

The event began with a performance by the Army Academy Military Band, followed by the entrance ceremony of eight districts, the opening declaration by Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun, the reading of the Citizens' Charter by Tan Seong-eun, Director of the Cultural Center, and a three cheers led by Jang Su-yong, President of the Senior Citizens' Association.

At the awards ceremony recognizing citizens who contributed to the development of Guri City in various fields, the 14th Guri Citizens' Awards were presented in the categories of Volunteerism and Filial Piety (Kim Hyun-wook), Culture, Arts, and Sports (Lee Sang-bae), Industry, Economy, and Environment (Lee Chun-bon), and Education and Scholarship (Yoo Sung-yeon). Additionally, a total of 80 citizens received commendations from the Governor, Mayor, City Council Chairperson, National Assembly members, Education Superintendent, Police Chief, and Fire Chief.

In the second part of the event, hosted by popular broadcaster Jo Young-gu, each district chief and citizens formed teams to perform talent shows by district, followed by congratulatory performances by popular entertainers such as Park Sang-chul, Young-gi, and Na Do-kyung.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “I am pleased to share a meaningful time of harmony with the citizens on Citizens' Day,” and emphasized, “Let us all unite as one to vigorously move forward to create a joyful change and a happier Guri City.”
