A New Model Tour to Prepare for the Future of Agriculture in Pocheon
The 20th class of Pocheon Environmental Agriculture College conducted field training in Dangjin and Boryeong on the 10th. On the 10th, the 20th class of the Environmental Agriculture College in Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) conducted field training in Dangjin City and Boryeong City, the city announced on the 11th.
This field training was planned to help students of the Agriculture College directly experience various approaches to explore new possibilities in the agricultural sector and innovate future agriculture.
The students visited Sunsung Brewery in Dangjin City, where they observed traditional brewing based on local agricultural products and successful cases of revitalizing rural convergence industries. They learned important strategies to increase farm income and revitalize the region through new business models combining agriculture, industry, and tourism.
They then moved to Green Monsters (an intelligent cucumber farm facility) located in Boryeong City, where they experienced a smart agriculture system utilizing advanced information and communication technology (ICT) and studied how to maximize productivity through technology-integrated agriculture.
Additionally, they explored ways to revitalize tourism in Pocheon by experiencing the Daecheon Sky Bike, which combines local cultural resources with tourism.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, “I hope this field training served as an opportunity for our farmers to expand their awareness of the latest agricultural technologies and convergence industries,” adding, “Pocheon City will continue to spare no support for the sustainable development of Pocheon agriculture.”
