Nobel Peace Prize-winning Japan Peace Committee Appeals for Nuclear Disarmament and Lasting Peace Continuously

On the 11th, NHK reported that Toshiyuki Mimaki, the representative of the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations, which won the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize, said about future plans, "I want to continue appealing to the world for the abolition of nuclear weapons and the realization of permanent peace."

According to the report, when asked about his acceptance speech, Representative Mimaki said, "It really feels like a lie." He watched the Nobel Peace Prize announcement scene held in Oslo, Norway, at a government office in Hiroshima City, Japan.


Referring to the previous representative who passed away three years ago, he said, "I think the victims who have been active until now would also be happy," and added, "I want to visit his grave and tell him."
