Starting in Jeonnam (Mokpo) on the 14th, the meetings will be held in Busan and Chungbuk (Cheongju) on the 16th, and in Gangwon (Chuncheon) on the 23rd. During this legal support meeting, the Global Innovation Zone Legal Support Team will provide legal education on risk prevention related to overseas business expansion, intellectual property protection, and listen to legal and institutional difficulties faced by companies in the innovation zones.

The Global Innovation Zones have a support system focused on overseas business such as overseas demonstration and international joint research and development (R&D) for the global advancement of products and services in advanced fields. Therefore, it is important to prevent unexpected legal risks during collaboration with foreign companies, universities, and research institutes.

The Legal Support Team will conduct security education tailored to each zone’s technology leakage risks and customized security measures to prevent technology leakage and intellectual property (IP) infringement by companies in the Global Innovation Zones. They will also review whether related companies hold national core technologies and whether export activities are involved during overseas demonstration and certification.

In addition to companies in the Global Innovation Zones, other SMEs and startups in the region’s other Regulatory Free Zones can also participate in the security education. After the training, a Q&A session will be held to address questions regarding technology protection and legal issues from attendees including zone companies.

The results obtained from this meeting and legal consultations for companies in the Global Innovation Zones will be compiled into an ‘Issue-specific Risk Response Manual’ to be referenced not only by zone companies but also by other SMEs and startups.
