"Some Media's Yellow Journalism Goes Too Far"

On the same day, Yoon appeared on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' and said, "There is no excuse for drunk driving." Yoon, who served as the head of the Blue House Situation Room during the Moon Jae-in administration, added, "I think former President Moon shares a similar view. (Drunk driving) is wrong a hundred and a thousand times, and since everyone is equal before the law, I believe he thinks that punishment must be imposed."

He continued, "Drunk driving is absolutely wrong and should not be excused, but I don't understand why what kind of side dishes were eaten at the first test is being reported in the news," adding, "Mistakes should be punished and reprimanded accordingly, but I think some media's yellow journalism has gone too far."

Regarding the police considering charges of drunk driving and reckless driving causing injury or death against Moon, he said, "When investigating drunk driving, they apply everything like that."

Earlier, on the 5th at around 2:51 a.m., Moon was driving a Casper car in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, when she changed lanes and collided with a black sedan taxi following behind. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the accident showed Moon attempting to change lanes without using the turn signal and colliding with the taxi. The police, who responded to the scene after the taxi driver reported the incident, confirmed through a breathalyzer test that Moon's blood alcohol concentration at the time was 0.149%, which is above the license cancellation threshold (0.08% or higher).
