Lee Sunhee, Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Member, Receives 'Integrity Award' from Anti-Corruption Movement Federation Gyeongbuk Provincial Council member Lee Sunhee is receiving a congratulatory bouquet along with the 'Integrity Award'.

The 'Integrity Award' is presented by the Anti-Corruption National Movement Federation, under the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, to individuals who have contributed to enhancing national competitiveness, improving integrity, and preventing corruption in various sectors of society. Chairperson Lee Sunhee was recognized for her active efforts to raise awareness of integrity required of public officials, spread a culture of integrity in the local community, and eradicate job-related corruption.

After being elected as the first Chairperson of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts in the 12th Gyeongbuk Provincial Council, Lee Sunhee oversaw the entire budget of Gyeongbuk Province and the Office of Education. Based on clear integrity, she ensured that the budget was not distorted for specific interest groups or private gain, and that fair and transparent budget allocation and decision-making were achieved. This played a decisive role in not only preventing corruption but also earning the trust of the local community.

Furthermore, after being elected as Chairperson of the Planning and Economy Committee in the latter half of her term, she was positively evaluated for ensuring that budgets and fiscal policies related to the local economy were used transparently and fairly, and for taking the lead in prioritizing the public interest over the interests of specific groups in fiscal policy.

Lee Sunhee stated, "Dasan Jeong Yak-yong once said that the most important virtues for public officials are integrity, love for the people, diligence, and fairness, with integrity being the foremost. This was a warning that if we do not guard against corruption and selfishness, the people will suffer. I always keep this in mind," adding, "Although I have received many awards for my legislative activities as a politician rooted in the local community, I am very pleased and feel a great sense of responsibility to be objectively recognized for working with integrity, prioritizing the public interest over private gain."

She also emphasized, "The reason I see integrity as the core of maintaining trust with residents is because politicians play a crucial role in making decisions directly connected to the lives of residents. Without integrity, trust is broken and even the foundation of the country can be shaken," adding, "I will continue to serve the residents with integrity and fairness, never losing my original intention, and take the lead in creating a more transparent and responsible political culture."
