Kakao Enterprise Conducts Cloud Expert Training Program with Mongolian University of Science and Technology

Kakao Enterprise announced on the 11th that it conducted a 'Cloud Expert Training' at the National University of Mongolia of Science and Technology and selected five outstanding talents as interns.

This training program is part of the 'KOICA Platform ESG Initiative' agreement signed with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in September last year and the business agreement signed with the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in May this year.

The KOICA Platform ESG Initiative is a new public-private development cooperation model linking Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It aims to establish an organic cooperation system for the economic, environmental, and social development of developing countries and to promote effective project implementation and impact creation.

Kakao Enterprise conducted a total of 12 cloud expert training sessions online and offline over approximately five months from May to September this year. A total of 20 students from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology participated. During the four face-to-face sessions, focused practical training was provided on parts that students found difficult, and questions were answered to resolve their doubts.

Additionally, five graduates who achieved excellent results in this training program were invited to Korea and given the opportunity to gain six weeks of practical development experience at Kakao Enterprise. The Mongolian University of Science and Technology students participating in the internship program are expected to engage in hands-on practice, such as building cloud environments based on OpenStack and Kubernetes.

Kakao Enterprise plans to jointly develop an edge cloud platform suitable for national and regional levels through collaboration between cloud experts from Korea and Mongolia. An edge cloud platform processes vast amounts of data in real-time near the data source (the edge) instead of centralized processing. Through this, they plan to establish a master plan for building cloud data centers in Mongolia.

Baemyeongjin, Head of Business at Kakao Enterprise, said, "We will do our best to expand the Kakao Cloud ecosystem through collaboration between cloud experts from both countries and further contribute to strengthening Mongolia's IT competitiveness."
