'Small and Medium Business Leaders Forum' Successfully Concluded: "A Time to Discover New Growth Engines"

The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) announced on the 11th that it successfully concluded the '2024 SME Leaders Forum,' the largest annual forum for small and medium enterprises, held over 3 nights and 4 days from October 8 to 11, with over 300 SME representatives from various regions and industries attending.

Under the theme "With SMEs, to the World! To the Future!" the forum held in Jeju designed the roles and commitments of SMEs expanding globally.

The forum began with an encouragement speech by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, followed by high-quality lectures from opinion leaders across diverse fields, including △ Park Young-sun, former Minister of SMEs and Startups △ Jung Hee-won, Professor of Geriatrics at Seoul Asan Medical Center △ Lee Jung-hyun, Vice Chairman of the Local Era Committee △ Actress Shin Ae-ra △ Heo Tae-gyun, Professor of Psychology at Korea University △ Um Hong-gil, Executive Director of the Um Hong-gil Human Foundation △ Kim Kwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, receiving high praise from attendees.

Notably, during the forum, the 'SME Globalization Grand Debate' was held, attended by Kim Seok-ki, Chairman of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee. Ambassador Vu Ho of Vietnam to Korea and representatives of local SME organizations from Europe and Southeast Asia participated as panelists, discussing the current status and challenges of Korean SMEs entering overseas markets.

Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of Kbiz, said, "I hope this Leaders Forum provided SME entrepreneurs struggling in the difficult economic situation with insights to discover new growth engines," adding, "We will invite SME entrepreneurs again next year with an even richer program."
