Held from the 2nd of next month, applications accepted from the 15th of this month
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the '2024 Seocho-gu Relay Parent Lecture FOCUS ON' four times starting from the 2nd of next month to help parents become better for their growing children.
This year, based on the satisfaction survey results from last year's lectures, the program has been customized by selecting the topics parents most want to hear. It will be conducted under four themes: 'Self-directed Learning,' 'Communication with Children,' 'Sex Education,' and 'Good Habits.'
On Saturday, November 2, there will be a lecture on 'Self-directed Learning' by Jeong Seung-ik, CEO and English instructor at EBSi. On Wednesday, November 6, Choi Min-jun, CEO of the Son Research Institute, will give a lecture on 'Communication Methods with Sons' for mothers raising sons of different genders. On Saturday, November 9, Professor Bae Jeong-won from the Happy Sexual Culture Center will provide 'Sex Education Coaching' based on understanding today's youth culture. On Wednesday, November 13, Professor Lee Dong-gwi from Yonsei University's Department of Psychology will deliver a lecture on 'Proper Habit Formation.' Wednesday lectures will be held in the main auditorium on the 2nd floor of Seocho-gu Office, and Saturday lectures will take place on the 8th floor of the Seocho Youth Center.
Residents wishing to participate in the lectures can register on a first-come, first-served basis using the poster QR code starting three weeks before each lecture date. The first registration day is the 15th of this month. For more details, please refer to the Seocho Youth Center website.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, "We will continue to hold parent lectures so that Seocho-gu parents can understand their children and communicate actively," adding, "We will keep striving to make Seocho-gu a happy place for both parents and children."
