A Total of 27 Trash Balloons Released Since May This Year

North Korea has once again launched an object presumed to be a trash balloon. This marks the resumption of provocations after three days.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on the 11th that North Korea is floating an object presumed to be a trash balloon aimed at South Korea. A JCS official stated, "Considering the current wind direction, the balloon may move toward the northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces," adding, "Please be cautious of falling debris, avoid touching any fallen balloons, and report them to the military or police."


North Korea also launched a trash balloon on the 8th. Since May of this year, this has been the 27th occurrence.
