Namyangju City Holds Appointment Ceremony for Population Policy Support Fund Management Deliberation Committee

The First Step Toward Establishing Sustainable Population Policies

Namyangju City is holding the 'Namyangju City Population Policy Support Fund Operation Deliberation Committee Appointment Ceremony.'

On the 10th, Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held an appointment ceremony for the Namyangju City Population Policy Support Fund Operation Deliberation Committee, composed of 20 members, to accelerate the establishment of sustainable policies in response to rapidly changing population structures.

The committee consists of 6 ex officio members, including Hong Ji-seon, Deputy Mayor of Namyangju City, and 14 appointed members such as City Council member Son Jeong-ja, population policy experts, and fund specialists. The committee will operate for two years from October 10, 2024, to October 9, 2026.

A total of 16 members (5 ex officio and 11 appointed) attended the appointment ceremony, and during the subsequent meeting, deliberations were held on the 2025 Namyangju City Population Policy Support Fund operation plan.

Additionally, the committee discussed how to effectively use the fund to solve population issues and how to bring about necessary changes in society through long-term and sustainable project planning, which is a key role of the committee.

Deputy Mayor Hong Ji-seon stated, “Based on the discussions in this committee, we will prepare practical and effective population policies to promote the city's sustainable development,” adding, “We will do our best to make Namyangju a place where all generations can live happily.”

Going forward, the committee plans to discuss various population policy initiatives and aims to create a Namyangju where everyone can be happy together.
