Yoo Seung-min: "Han Dong-hoon, as Minister, avoided prosecuting Mrs. Kim out of caution... lacking conscience"

Hong Jun-pyo: "A Leader Who Dances to Public Opinion Is Not a Leader"... Fierce Criticism of Han Dong-hoon

Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min criticized Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, as having a "bad conscience" after Han ordered the prosecution to deliver a "result that the public can accept" regarding Kim Kun-hee's Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case.

On the 10th, Yoo posted on his social media, "When Han was the Minister of Justice, he neither prosecuted nor addressed Kim's stock manipulation case, but now he comes and tells the prosecution to produce a result that the public can accept, as if lecturing others," he said. He added, "This is a complete dissociation from reality. It shows a bad conscience," criticizing him.

Yoo further stated, "Moreover, Han, as Minister of Justice, was the person who could have restored the prosecution chief's investigative authority over this case but chose not to and neglected it," and "How would the public view such hypocritical behavior when he says to junior prosecutors now, 'You handle the prosecution in a way that meets the public's expectations,' after failing to do what he was supposed to?"

He emphasized, "Han must first properly apologize to the public for his serious mistake of failing to handle the stock manipulation case while being mindful of power during his tenure as Minister of Justice."

On the same day, Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, also posted on social media, saying, "He should have decided on prosecution during his time as Minister of Justice, but he hesitated for a year and six months and now pressures the prosecution. Is that appropriate behavior?" He added, "A leader who dances to public opinion is not a leader," and "That is not the public's expectation but merely a Chinese opera face-changing act."
