Seha An fully denies school violence allegations in handwritten statement
"Requested investigation for false information dissemination, already completed"
Actor Ahn Se-ha (real name Ahn Jae-wook) broke his silence after about a month and directly denied the allegations of school violence against him.
On the 10th, Ahn Se-ha posted a photo of a handwritten statement on his Instagram. He began the post by saying, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern due to the series of events being circulated about me." Ahn explained, "The reason I have not revealed my position until now is because I thought it was objectively right to first identify and punish those spreading false information legally, and then express my stance afterward."
He added, "However, as their malicious attacks and false interviews continued, I felt that it might become difficult to live as a proud father and son if this continued, so I resolved to clearly state the facts myself."
He continued, "All the internet posts and their claims are clearly false, and I have no intention of returning to acting while apologizing for false content based on distorted memories." He also stated, "I believe it is a fateful matter that I must resolve this injustice to correct what is wrong and live as an honorable father, so I requested a police investigation and have sincerely completed the inquiry."
The allegations of school violence against Ahn Se-ha first surfaced last month on an online community. The author, identified as A, claimed, "When I was in the third year of middle school, Ahn Se-ha came to find me with several delinquents." He continued, "There was a pantry with frosted glass doors next to the classroom, and the group took me there, threatening me by poking my stomach with large glass shards and forcing me to fight one of the delinquents, which I did not want to do." He explained the reason for writing the school violence expos? now, saying, "I cannot bring myself to applaud while watching my child see the baseball game where the devil who gave me an indelible scar during my school days throws the first pitch for his favorite team."
At the time, Ahn Se-ha was scheduled to throw the first pitch at a professional baseball NC Dinos game. In response, Ahn Se-ha's agency, Hoonus Entertainment, immediately stated, "This is groundless," adding, "We are collecting evidence as there have been discoveries of spreading unverified false information and malicious slander about Ahn Se-ha, and we plan to take legal action including criminal complaints through our legal representatives."
However, as the controversy grew, Okcheon County in Chungbuk dismissed Ahn Se-ha as the promotional ambassador for the 1st National Theater Festival just three days after his appointment. A county official said, "Regardless of the truth of the school violence allegations, since reports related to the suspicions are being made, we judged that there was a problem in performing the role of promotional ambassador and decided to dismiss him." Additionally, the professional baseball team NC Dinos canceled Ahn Se-ha's first pitch at their Changwon home game, and the musical 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder,' in which Ahn was scheduled to appear, replaced him with another actor.
