Korea Investment & Securities announced on the 10th that it will hold a brokerage-type ISA (Individual Savings Account) event for Bankis customers until the end of December. Bankis is an online-only account and trading service of Korea Investment & Securities that can be opened non-face-to-face or through commercial banks.
During the event period, all customers who newly open a brokerage-type ISA account and deposit more than 1 million KRW will receive a 10,000 KRW department store gift certificate. Additionally, customers who make a net deposit of more than 10 million KRW in the account will be given department store gift certificates up to 300,000 KRW depending on the amount range. Customers whose mandatory holding period for existing accounts has expired and who extend the maturity date by more than one year while maintaining a balance of over 20 million KRW will be entered into a draw where 50 winners will receive 100,000 KRW in cash.
An ETF net purchase event through the brokerage-type ISA account will also be held. Customers who net purchase designated ETFs from Samsung Asset Management and Mirae Asset Global Investments for more than 5 million KRW will be entered into a draw to receive an additional benefit of up to 50,000 KRW per asset management company, totaling 100,000 KRW.
The brokerage-type ISA account is a tax-advantaged account that allows diversified investment in various financial products such as domestic listed stocks, bonds, ETFs, and ELS. Dividend and interest income up to 2 million KRW (4 million KRW for the low-income type) are tax-exempt, and amounts exceeding the tax-exempt limit are subject to a separate tax rate of 9.9%, which is not included in the comprehensive financial income tax.
Customers who open a Bankis brokerage-type ISA account by the end of the year will receive lifetime preferential domestic stock trading commission benefits. Furthermore, customers who make a net deposit of more than 10 million KRW after opening the account can also receive a 200% preferential benefit on public offering subscription limits hosted by Korea Investment & Securities. Prior application is required to participate in the event.
