Gapyeong-gun, 'Digital Tourism Resident Card' Nears 70,000 Issued in 4 Months 'Digital Tourism Resident Card' Information Poster.

Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 10th that the number of honorary Gapyeong residents registered with the 'Digital Tourist Resident Card' promoted by the Korea Tourism Organization is approaching 70,000. This is noteworthy as it far exceeds the resident population of Gapyeong-gun, which is about 63,700.

According to Gapyeong-gun, as of the 4th of this month, the number of Digital Tourist Resident Card issuances reached approximately 69,340, greatly surpassing the resident population of Gapyeong-gun (about 63,780) within just four months since the issuance began.

The county was selected in June for the 'Digital Tourist Resident Card' contest project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to revitalize tourism in areas with declining populations. Since then, active promotion of the project has been carried out through large-scale events such as the Korea International Tourism Expo and Jarasum Flower Festa.

The Digital Tourist Resident Card is a type of honorary resident card that offers discounts at various tourist attractions including experiences, sightseeing, restaurants, and accommodations. Anyone can obtain and use the card except for residents of the respective area.

The county provides various benefits at a total of 24 tourist attractions, restaurants, and accommodations, including Edelweiss Swiss Theme Park (2,000 KRW discount on admission) and Gapyeong Bridge Zipline (20% discount on experience fees). So far, the most visited places by Digital Tourist Resident Card users are Cozy & Lazy (118 cases), Edelweiss Swiss Theme Park (110 cases), and Cheonsanghyun's Cheonsang Gapyeong Meotjip (71 cases), in that order.

The Digital Tourist Resident Card can be issued through the 'Korea Tourism' website or mobile app, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the Gapyeong-gun Tourism Division.

A county official stated, "We plan to actively promote the Digital Tourist Resident Card so that tourists visiting Gapyeong can receive more diverse benefits and continuously increase the number of businesses offering discount benefits."
