Use of Materials Recycled from Waste Plastic
"Building a Sustainable Circular Recycling Ecosystem"
SK Chemicals announced on the 10th that it showcased a cosmetic container with a 70% application rate of circular recycled materials in collaboration with Tolli, a global cosmetic container company, at 'Luxpec Monaco 2024' held in Monaco, France.
Tolli is a global cosmetic container company headquartered in Malta, Europe, specializing in packaging and supplying containers for luxury cosmetic brand products worldwide.
The cosmetic container introduced this time is a compact case made using SK Chemicals' 'ECOTRIA CLARO' material. After developing a product with a 50% recycled material content last year, this year the recycled material content was increased to 70%. ECOTRIA is a brand referring to high-performance copolyesters that include recycled raw materials. CLARO is a designation for copolyesters that can be classified as PET after use and are recyclable.
The ECOTRIA CLARO unveiled this time uses waste plastic as raw material and can again become raw material for recycled plastic after use, making it the most ideal recycled material capable of establishing a complete circular system for plastics, according to the company.
Kim Eungsoo, Head of the Green Materials Business Division at SK Chemicals, said, "Based on various sustainable material solutions in the future, we will expand the use of recycled materials in various fields through collaboration with brand owners and build a sustainable circular recycling ecosystem."
