The 23rd annual "Goyang International Art Fair" will be held from the 10th to the 13th at Kintex Exhibition Hall 2, Hall 6.
Organized by the Goyang branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association, the "23rd Goyang International Art Fair" is hosted by the Goyang Federation of Arts and Culture and sponsored by Goyang Special City, with free admission.
This year, a special exhibition titled "Big Picture 2024" has been planned, showcasing works by popular two-dimensional and three-dimensional artists such as Kang Se-kyung, Kim Kyung-min, Kim Won-geun, Kim Si-hyun, and Artnom, as well as veteran artists from Goyang and young artists from Gyeonggi Province. The exhibition features artists in their 20s to 40s, promising an artistic discourse that transcends generations.
Among the participating artists, Western-style painter Kwon Soon-cheol presents works exploring the pain and salvation of life through Korean faces, incorporating religious symbols and philosophical messages. Artist Kim Seon-du maintains the tradition of Korean painting while combining Western collage and reverse perspective to add a modern sensibility to his works.
Lee Moon-bae, president of the Goyang Fine Arts Association and planner of the 23rd Goyang International Art Fair, said, "This exhibition is an important platform that embraces generations and genres to explore the present and future of Korean art. Artists from all generations living in the present and various genres gather in one place to offer new visual experiences, while showcasing the unique world of Korean art where tradition, modernity, and the future meet."
A city official stated, "We hope that citizens visiting the Goyang International Art Fair will have an enriching experience that deepens their cultural insight and artistic sensibility through viewing fine art," adding, "We will continue efforts to revitalize the art market so that Goyang Special City can take another step forward as a city of culture and arts."
