Preparation Status Check and Sustainability Practice Declaration Ceremony
On the 8th, the city of Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, held the '2024 Gumi Ramyeon Festival' Citizens' Briefing Session at the city hall's main auditorium, attended by over 80 people including members of the Nangman Culture Festival Committee, city council, volunteer organizations, and festival participants.
At this briefing, Festival Planning Director Yoon Sungjin reported on the final preparations for the Gumi Ramyeon Festival and introduced newly improved content and unique experiential programs, raising expectations for this year's event.
Prior to the briefing, the '2024 Gumi Ramyeon Festival Sustainability Practice Declaration Ceremony' also drew attention, pledging to pursue and practice harmony between food culture and the environment as a festival that grows together with the local community.
Mayor Kim Jangho said, "With this year's third Gumi Ramyeon Festival, Gumi is truly emerging as a sacred place for ramyeon," and added, "We will thoroughly prepare to provide visitors with diverse experiences and to make the festival safe and sustainable again this year."
The 2024 Gumi Ramyeon Festival will be held for three days from November 1 in the area around Gumi Station, featuring unique programs and cultural events such as the 'Ramyeon Restaurant', comprised of 15 representative Gumi eateries selected through fierce competition, and the 'Ramyeon Workshop', where participants can create their own ramyeon by combining various ingredients themselves.
