Uijeongbu Youth Foundation Successfully Concludes Family Hiking Event 'Sapae Japae Hiking'

The Uijeongbu Youth Foundation held the family hiking event "Sapaejepe Hiking" on the 5th, starting from the Uijeongbu Youth Training Center and climbing to Madangbawi, the Sapae Ridge junction, and the summit of Sapae Mountain.

The Uijeongbu Youth Foundation (Chairman Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 8th that it successfully held the family hiking event "Sapaejepe Hiking," which started at the Uijeongbu Youth Center on the 5th and climbed Madangbawi, the Sapae Ridge junction, and the summit of Sapae Mountain.

The Uijeongbu Youth Foundation prioritized the safety of participants by stationing staff at key sections and organizing groups at the start of the hike. Various convenience facilities such as snack booths and eco-friendly upcycling experience booths were operated for participants' convenience, along with medical support and a pre-event performance by the Uijeongbu Taekwondo Demonstration Team.

Hosted and organized by the Uijeongbu Youth Foundation, the hiking event saw 158 participants safely complete the 7.3 km course in about 3 hours and 45 minutes, fully enjoying the autumn atmosphere. Participants were given 1 kg of Hoeryong rice from Uijeongbu City to promote the consumption of domestic rice, and a generous prize event was also held to add to the enjoyment.

A family who participated in the event said, "We have lived in Uijeongbu for almost 10 years, but this was our first time climbing Sapae Mountain," and added, "We were touched by the meticulous management of the Uijeongbu Youth Foundation staff, and thanks to them, we were able to encourage each other and reach the summit together as a family."

Kim Dong-geun, Chairman of the Uijeongbu Youth Foundation, said, "I hope this was a meaningful time to learn the value of challenge and the importance of the environment while climbing Sapae Mountain with family and to grow further," and added, "We will continue to work hard so that all citizens can enjoy Uijeongbu, a city where you want to walk."
