Namdong-gu, Incheon announced on the 8th that it is operating a facility where residents affected by natural disasters or fire damage can temporarily reside and live.
This temporary housing facility for disaster victims, directly operated by the local government, is the only one in Incheon and is rare nationwide.
The temporary housing facility is Manbu Housing located in Mansu-dong, consisting of three floors with nine rooms. Among these, six rooms are used as temporary housing facilities, and currently, five households, including victims of the recent apartment fire in Dorim-dong, are temporarily residing there.

Last summer, disaster victims who had difficulty living due to the heatwave also used the facility. Originally, Manbu Housing was operated as a revolving rental housing under an urban regeneration project, but after the project ended, the facility and regulations were reorganized and changed to a temporary housing facility earlier this year.
In case of damage caused by fire or natural disasters, residents can usually stay temporarily for one month, and depending on the extent of the damage, use can be extended up to two months. Utility bills during the stay are covered by the district office.
Also, considering the initial shortage of household items during operation, local companies supported the temporary housing facility with appliances and other necessary living supplies.
Park Jong-hyo, the district mayor, said, "We will continue to actively support residents affected by unexpected disasters or fires so that they can live comfortably here and quickly return to their daily lives."
