Renault Korea's Test Drive Event Last Month Attracted 5,882 Visitors
8 Out of 10 Express "Intention to Buy"
Renault Korea's new car, the Grand Koleos, released after four years, led the revival of domestic sales by selling 3,900 units last month (based on the E-Tech Hybrid). The company's total domestic sales last month reached 5,010 units, more than tripling compared to the same period a year ago.
Word of mouth about the quiet driving experience and excellent product quality, mainly from those who test drove the vehicle, has made frontline sales sites busier. In line with the new car launch last month, the company held test drive events for customers mainly on weekends. About 5,882 people participated in the two-week event. According to a survey of test drive participants, 97% said they were satisfied after driving the new car.

The highest satisfaction was recorded for quietness (31%, multiple selections allowed). The Grand Koleos was developed with a focus on reducing NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), which refers to vehicle noise, vibration, and discomfort, to provide a smooth and comfortable ride in a quiet interior environment.
It is the first in its class to feature active noise cancellation. Three microphones inside the vehicle detect noise generated from tires and the road, analyze the sources, and the sound speakers emit opposing sound waves to cancel out engine noise. Additionally, sound-absorbing tires made of foam material (20-inch standard) are applied to minimize tire resonance and noise generated from contact with the ground. The company explained that they actively used sound-absorbing materials throughout the vehicle and carefully finished the underbody to achieve quietness comparable to that of a luxury sedan.
Other aspects that test drive customers were satisfied with included engine and transmission performance (20%), design (18%), convenience features (17%), and fuel efficiency (14%). 80% of respondents expressed an intention to purchase the vehicle after the test drive. Among them, 40% said they planned to buy immediately when asked about their actual purchase plans. According to the company, as of the end of last month, a total of 20,562 Grand Koleos contracts had been recorded.
