Yonsei Milk Marong Fresh Cream Bread Re-released
CU, a convenience store operated by BGF Retail, announced on the 8th that it will collaborate with 'Napoli Mafia' (real name Kwon Seong-jun), a cast member of 'Black & White Chef: Culinary Class War' (Black & White Chef), to launch the popular menu item from the show, 'Chestnut Tiramisu Cup.' The Chestnut Tiramisu Cup is scheduled to be released on the 12th.
Black & White Chef is a cooking competition program featuring 20 top chefs known as 'White Spoons' and 80 underground masters called 'Black Spoons.' The show is currently the number one non-English series on the online streaming service (OTT) Netflix, enjoying immense popularity worldwide.

Earlier in January, CU received a request from the Black & White Chef production team to recreate a convenience store on the set for a cooking competition themed around convenience store ingredients. Napoli Mafia used CU’s 'Yonsei Milk Marong Fresh Cream Bread' and 'HEYROO Matbam Deuktem' in the competition to make chestnut tiramisu, earning high praise from the judges and securing first place.
Following the broadcast, the ingredients used in the dish attracted consumer interest. From the 1st to the 6th of this month, tiramisu ranked in the top 10 search terms on CU’s own app, Pocket CU, and sales of products used in the recipe, such as Matbam Deuktem (42.7%) and Yonsei Milk Cream Bread (31.1%), increased compared to the same period the previous week.
CU will offer pre-orders for the 'Chestnut Tiramisu Cup' (4,900 KRW), based on Napoli Mafia’s recipe, through Pocket CU from the 8th to the 10th of this month. The product is scheduled to be released nationwide at CU convenience stores on the 12th, and customers who pre-order can pick up their items at their preferred store and time.
This product uses ingredients such as chestnut fresh cream, toffee nut latte, cookies, chocolate, and granola, allowing customers to enjoy the rich and sweet flavors of seasonal autumn chestnuts and cream cheese. Napoli Mafia directly participated in developing the recipe, faithfully recreating the menu and taste from Black & White Chef.
Going forward, CU plans to continuously release additional products in collaboration with Napoli Mafia, aiming to enhance product competitiveness through mid- to long-term cooperation.
Additionally, CU has decided to re-release Yonsei Milk Marong Fresh Cream Bread and will conduct pre-order sales starting on the 8th. The first 2,000 customers will receive a voucher for HEYROO Matbam Deuktem, an ingredient used in the chestnut tiramisu, along with the Marong Fresh Cream Bread as a special benefit.
Yonsei Milk Marong Fresh Cream Bread was introduced by CU last October as a limited dessert for the fall and winter seasons. It features fresh cream, custard, and boni chestnut (braised chestnut) paste made from seasonal autumn chestnuts, enhancing its sweet flavor. Reflecting the chestnut concept, the bread’s surface is topped with sesame seeds to depict the shape of a chestnut.
A BGF Retail official said, "We quickly launched products so that customers can directly experience the popular menus from Black & White Chef at CU convenience stores nationwide, which are gaining great popularity both domestically and internationally. We plan to continue long-term collaborations with Chef Kwon Seong-jun of Napoli Mafia to develop uniquely interpreted products and content partnerships."
Meanwhile, earlier this year, CU released products in collaboration with experts from various fields, including first-generation barista Park Yi-chu, Chinese cuisine master Chef Yeo Kyung-ok, and 16th generation master baker Song Young-kwang.
