'Gonggong Geonchuk Academy' Launches First Training on the 7th... Inviting Public Architecture Experts for Customized Lectures on Planning, Design, Construction, and Operation Stages

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) held a Public Architecture Academy training session for public architecture officers at the district office's Creative Hall on the 7th, officially commencing its operation.

The Public Architecture Academy was established to strengthen the capabilities of public architecture officers, enabling the district to manage the entire public architecture project process?from the design stage to construction and post-completion maintenance?in a more systematic and effective manner.

The first training session on the 7th was attended by about 20 officers, with Park Jin-guk, an official from the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Public Housing Division, Urban Public Housing Complex Team, explaining the basic concepts of public architecture, such as elements necessary for architectural planning and building usage, in an easy-to-understand way.

The Public Architecture Academy consists of a total of four sessions through the first half of next year, including this initial training. For each session, public architecture experts will be invited as instructors to provide tailored lectures for each process, including planning, design, construction, and operation.

In addition, the district plans to form a public architecture project consultative body composed of project and construction departments and experts, which will be operated regularly or as needed during the planning, design, and construction stages.

A Guro-gu official stated, “We expect the quality level of Guro-gu’s public architecture to be elevated through the Public Architecture Academy,” and added, “We will do our best to supply high-quality public buildings where the happiness of residents is realized.”
