Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 7th that it will open the Children and Youth Rest Cafe ‘Youth Imagination Playground 0924’ on the 2nd floor of Pocheon City Gasan Library on the 8th.
Pocheon City's first youth-exclusive space, ‘Youth Imagination Playground 0924’ (223 Seonmaro, Gasan-myeon, Pocheon-si), is a cultural space for youth rest and play. It was created by remodeling the 2nd floor of Pocheon City Gasan Library.
The nickname ‘Youth Imagination Playground 0924’ refers to the youth age range from 9 to 24 years old and signifies a play space full of beautiful dreams and imagination of youth.
The Rest Cafe includes various facilities actively reflecting youth opinions, such as a party room, instrument practice room, dance practice room, karaoke, internet games, and board games.
Youth can use the space freely and free of charge. Operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays Tuesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “This Children and Youth Rest Cafe project was selected and promoted as a public contest project in the 8th term of the local government to expand youth facilities where children and youth can enjoy leisure activities. I hope that the Children and Youth Rest Cafe, utilizing small-scale idle spaces easily accessible to youth, will become a hub for care, education, and culture.”
