The police have arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of assaulting his father in his 80s, leading to the father's death.

On the 7th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that they have arrested and are investigating a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of causing death by assault against a direct ascendant.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of assaulting his father, Mr. B, in his 80s, at their residence in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, around 1:50 p.m. the previous day, resulting in Mr. B's death. It is reported that Mr. B died while being transported to the hospital after the assault.
The police secured a weapon (a blunt instrument) presumed to have been used in the crime at the scene, but the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
A police official stated, "After completing the investigation of Mr. A, we will decide whether to request an arrest warrant."
