Accurately Diagnosed Issues Revealed in Seoul City Administration Including Redevelopment (Sintong, Moa) and Han River Projects
Seoul Metropolitan Council member Seo Jun-oh (Democratic Party of Korea·Nowon 4) participated as a discussant representing the Democratic Party of Korea in the Seoul Metropolitan Council at a forum hosted by the Democratic Party of Korea Seoul City Party's Special Committee for Preparing a New Seoul City (hereinafter referred to as the New Seoul Special Committee), accurately diagnosing the problems of Seoul city administration and discussing improvement measures.
The New Seoul Special Committee held consecutive forums at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, following the September 26 forum on "Current Status and Problems of Seoul Redevelopment Projects," with the October 2 forum titled "Seoul City Budget Waste Projects, What Is the Problem?" focusing on a thorough review of Mayor Oh Se-hoon's key projects.
Seo Jun-oh, vice chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council Housing and Spatial Committee, which oversees the Seoul Housing Office responsible for Seoul redevelopment projects (Shintong Planning, Moa Town) and SH Seoul Housing and Urban Corporation involved in the Great Han River Project (Riververse, Seoul Ring, etc.), participated as a discussant in both forums. Based on his legislative activities in the Seoul Metropolitan Council, he meticulously examined and diagnosed budget and administrative resource waste and procedural defects caused by Mayor Oh Se-hoon's reckless project implementation, adding depth to the discussions.
The New Seoul Special Committee forum was attended by Park Joo-min, chairman of the special committee and member of the National Assembly, Jang Kyung-tae, chairman of the Seoul City Party and member of the National Assembly, as well as Democratic Party members representing Seoul constituencies including Kim Nam-geun, Kim Dong-ah, Kim Young-bae, Nam In-soon, Park Hong-geun, Oh Ki-hyung, and Chae Hyun-il, along with National Assembly Public Administration and Security Committee members Park Jung-hyun and Lee Kwang-hee, signaling a strong diagnosis of Seoul city administration issues through upcoming Seoul city audits.
Seo Jun-oh stated, "Mayor Oh Se-hoon's key projects are hastily pushed forward without thorough review or preparation, based on a single word. The ones suffering and harmed by this are the citizens," adding, "Through the national audit and administrative inspection, we will accurately diagnose and correct the flawed Seoul city administration to lay the foundation for creating a new Seoul."
