Kim Hong-sik, equipped with a Monsta Shaft, won the Korean Long Driver Association (KLDA) 2024 Korea Long Driver Championship held recently at Salt Bay Driving Range in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, hitting a distance of 371 yards. This was in the Masters League division for amateurs aged 40 and above. Kim Hong-sik is the director of the Monsta Shaft Long Drive Team. He mounted the Monsta Chameleon long drive shaft with a Psycho 7-degree long drive driver head and crowned himself the "Long Drive King."

Kim Hong-sik had placed second and third in domestic long drive competitions earlier this year before finally taking first place. He said, "I consulted with the CEO of Monsta Shaft on technical aspects and received a lot of help. Thanks to their generous support for the players," adding, "I will continue to work hard so that I can perform well in competitions in the United States as well," sharing his thoughts on the victory.

Monsta Shaft is a native shaft company produced domestically alongside Domina’s Autoflex. It is called the "Herm?s of the shaft industry." Each shaft manufactured at the Masan factory costs 1.1 million KRW. It is a premium shaft that satisfies both directionality and distance simultaneously. The CEO is Park Jong-tae, father of Park Ye-ji, who is active on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.

CEO Park named the company with his daughter in mind. "Monsta" is an abbreviation of "Monday Star." It means that his daughter, who wins on Sunday, will be a star on Monday.

Monsta Shaft is gaining great popularity domestically. It started with a 10% usage rate on the KLPGA Tour in 2020 and now reaches about 30%. Im Hee-jung, Jung Yoon-ji, Jeon Ye-seong, and Choi Hye-jin have all reached the top using Monsta Shafts. The usage rate among national team players is 50%. Yoo Hyun-jo and Lim Ji-yoo won a team silver medal at last year’s Hangzhou Asian Games using Monsta Shafts.
