On the 7th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it recently held an awards ceremony for six exemplary public officials who actively performed their duties in the first half of 2024.

At this awards ceremony, Hong Hyun-joo, Director of the Women's Childcare Division, who installed and operated the '24-hour Childcare Center,' along with two others, were selected as 'Best.' The introduction of a free service for drafting construction notification drawings for temporary buildings (Permit Division, Director Lee Jae-hak and three others) and the operation of a blog linked with QR codes for resident registration civil service guidance (Daewol-myeon, Mayor Kim Jin-yong and three others) were each chosen as 'Excellent.' Additionally, the following received encouragement awards: ▲ Promotion of new cultural and arts festivals (Culture and Arts Division, Team Leader Park Soo-hwan and four others) ▲ Efforts to designate a semiconductor specialized complex and promote mutual cooperation between Icheon and Yongin (Advanced Strategic Industry Division, Director Lee Eun-mi and four others) ▲ Improvement project of pedestrian street environment in Seolbong Neighborhood Park (Parks and Greenery Division, Director Hwang Byung-gu and two others).
The city awards the selected exemplary public officials with the Icheon Mayor's Award and prize money, and also grants additional points in performance evaluations as an incentive in personnel matters.
An official from Icheon City stated, "We will strive to further activate a culture of proactive administration within the public sector to fulfill the needs and demands of our citizens."
