Busan Urban Corporation Promotes Local Revitalization by Utilizing Idle Spaces

Utilizing Rental Apartment Commercial Spaces to Support Culture, Environment, Tourism, and Arts Education

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) announced that on September 27, it had finalized the selection of organizations to participate in the "Vibrant Spaces, Unleash Your Dreams!" project.


This project aims to revitalize the local community and expand exchanges among residents by providing, free of charge, commercial spaces owned by BMC to applicants engaged in activities related to ▲culture and arts ▲youth entrepreneurship ▲care services ▲ESG initiatives.


From August 1, BMC conducted a recruitment announcement, on-site briefing sessions, and document and presentation evaluations to select "Munhwabokji Gongdongche Busan Fringe" as the operator.


Munhwabokji Gongdongche Busan Fringe is a professional arts organization that promotes various cultural and volunteer activities, including performances and cultural planning. Professional artists and citizens collaborate on activities in diverse genres such as culture, environment, tourism, and arts education. Through these efforts, they proposed to establish a foundation for promoting public art in everyday life, thereby contributing to local revitalization.


The selected sites are two commercial spaces in Guhak Village, Hakjang-dong, Sasang-gu, which will be provided free of charge for up to five years (three years basic term plus two-year extension) without any deposit or rent.


Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "We are pleased to provide a venue for diverse and innovative activities in fields such as culture and arts, where local residents can participate together," adding, "We will continue to strive to be a reliable partner for the local community in revitalizing the region."
