Encouraging Non-Punitive Parenting Based on Child Respect Principles
Next Speaker Identified as Kang Jaehyung, CEO of Kizania
Lotte GRS announced on the 7th that CEO Cha Woo-cheol has joined the 'Positive Parenting' relay campaign aimed at preventing child abuse and creating a society where children are respected.
Positive parenting is a method of child-rearing without corporal punishment based on the principle of respecting children. It is founded on the basic premise that "children are independent individuals who deserve respect," and proposes two practical principles: starting with understanding both the parents themselves and their children, and having mutual trust. It also presents a total of nine practical methods, including 'knowing your child,' 'self-reflection,' and 'changing perspectives.'
Based on this, various organizations including the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Child Rights Protection Agency are participating in the relay campaign to spread a culture of child abuse prevention. CEO Cha joined this relay campaign after being nominated by Choi Yeon-soo, CEO of Lotte Aluminium. As the next relay participant, he nominated Kang Jae-hyung, CEO of KidZania.
Meanwhile, since 2021, Lotte GRS has been conducting the customer participation campaign 'Hope ON,' which raises and donates funds matched to orders placed through its app to support the living environments of vulnerable and marginalized groups. In addition, the company carries out various contributions for children, such as supporting funds for building rehabilitation centers for children with disabilities and providing the KidZania program, which offers diverse job experience opportunities.
CEO Cha said, "I hope this child abuse prevention campaign will raise awareness among many people and serve as an opportunity to create an environment where children can grow up safely and happily," adding, "We will continue to strive for various contributions to children and those in need."
