JT Chin-ae Savings Bank Conducts Volunteer Activities for Underprivileged Children and Adolescents

JT Chin-ae Savings Bank announced on the 7th that it is carrying out various activities to help children and adolescents from underprivileged groups in the local community.

In July, ahead of the hot summer season, the bank donated funds to the Ha-eun Community Child Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. These funds are used to support various activities to help about 30 children affiliated with the center spend a healthy summer. They provided special summer meals such as Samgyetang, covered electricity bills for air conditioning operation, and were used for environmental improvement projects in the study rooms.

Community Child Centers provide child welfare services that help children who need after-school care achieve emotional and physical stability and social development through various programs. JT Chin-ae Savings Bank, together with its affiliate JT Savings Bank, has formed a partnership with the Seongnam Community Child Center Association and has supported educational assistance for local community child centers in the area.

Additionally, JT Chin-ae Savings Bank continues its social contribution activity called the 'Love Pink Box' to support vulnerable female adolescents in Seoul. The Love Pink Box is a campaign by the Korean Red Cross that helps students who have difficulty purchasing feminine hygiene products due to financial hardship. Since 2020, JT Chin-ae Savings Bank has partnered with the Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross to participate in this campaign to provide practical support to vulnerable youth in the community.

Earlier this year, in April, the bank held an event with the Korean Red Cross Seoul branch Central Volunteer Center to produce and distribute Love Pink Boxes. Each box contained feminine hygiene products sufficient for one adolescent to use for five months, along with handwritten letters from JT Chin-ae Savings Bank employees. Additionally, eco-bags featuring the bank’s official brand character 'Jjeompi' and 'Jjeompi Friends' dolls were included. These were distributed to about 100 vulnerable female students attending elementary, middle, and high schools in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Moreover, JT Chin-ae Savings Bank, together with JT Savings Bank, carries out various sponsorship activities to care for marginalized children and adolescents in the local community. These include sponsoring marathon events to help patients with facial deformities from vulnerable groups, supporting single mother facilities in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and conducting child abuse prevention campaigns in cooperation with child protection agencies in Gyeonggi Province.
