Namyangju City Communicates with 'Uri Dongnae Cheongnyeon Kkotgan' Youth through Table Tennis Tournament Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is communicating with the youth while cheering with the participants at the 'Our Neighborhood Youth Flower Room' Youth Table Tennis Tournament held on the 4th.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 7th that it held a youth table tennis tournament on the 4th for participants of the program at Dasan-dong Champions Table Tennis Club, one of the eight locations of ‘Uri Dongne Cheongnyeon Kkotgan’ (Our Neighborhood Youth Flower House).

The tournament featured young people who took classes through the program and 2030 youth table tennis club members, showcasing the skills they had honed. The event was designed not just to determine winners and losers but as a time to build friendship and teamwork through sports, adding significance as a platform for communication between the youth and the city.

As a result of the tournament, player Shim Hyun-woo won first place and received table tennis equipment as a prize. Additionally, all participants except the winner were given souvenirs prepared by the Champions Table Tennis Club.

Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju, who communicated with the youth by participating in the tournament, said, “I hope today’s game becomes a tournament where Namyangju’s youth harmonize with each other,” and added, “We will continue to create spaces and programs that meet the needs and satisfaction of young people.”

‘Uri Dongne Cheongnyeon Kkotgan’ is a project that expanded the existing ‘Cheongnyeon Kkotgan’ within the Hopyeong-dong Youth Startup Center to create convenient spaces for young people to use near their residences.

The city secured a total of eight youth cultural spaces in various areas within the jurisdiction through a Gyeonggi Province public contest project. Among them, the Dasan Champions Table Tennis Club was selected as the operation space for the youth table tennis program, with 15 young people participating over the past two months.
