Gather with Your Pets... 8th Pohang Pet Culture Festival to Be Held

On the 12th: Couple Style Contest, Running with Pets, and More

Pohang City will hold the '8th Pohang Pet Culture Festival' at the Ocheon Eupmin Sports Ground on the 12th.

Since 2014, the city has been hosting the Pet Culture Festival to establish a mature pet culture that considers neighbors.

Currently, there are 24,550 registered companion dogs in Pohang, and this year's festival will be held in Ocheon-eup, where 4,100 dogs are registered?the highest among all towns and districts?making the event even more meaningful.

This festival will feature a variety of citizen participation programs, including a "Wait" game, a couple fashion contest, running with pets, and a limbo game.

There will also be pet health consultations and animal behavior education, and Sunrin University’s Department of Companion Animals will operate a pet snack-making booth. Various experience and sales booths related to companion animals are also prepared.

Hwang Myungseok, head of the Livestock Division, said, "We hope this Pet Culture Festival will help establish pet etiquette such as leashing and cleaning up after pets," adding, "We have prepared a variety of programs, so we hope many citizens will participate with their beloved pets."
