Continued Operation of the Civil Grievance Resolution Officer System

Launch of Civil Complaint Counselors for the Second Half of the 8th Term in Guri City Guri City has been operating the Guri City Civil Complaint Counselor since the 4th.

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 7th that it reappointed the Guri City Civil Complaint Counselors on the 4th.


During the first half of the 8th local government term, the city has been operating the Civil Complaint Counselor system, providing various administrative services such as complex civil complaint consultations to visitors at Guri City Hall. Based on the experience accumulated by the counselors, the city plans to continue operating the system in the second half of the term to provide tailored administrative services to citizens.


These counselors are responsible for resolving citizens' inconveniences by handling telephone and in-person grievance consultations, mediation, advisory services, reception guidance, proposing system improvements to enhance administrative services, and patrolling vulnerable areas. In the future, they will also actively engage in administrative service activities for vulnerable groups, such as promoting various city policies and providing free transcription services for the elderly.


As the demand for professional civil complaint administrative services from citizens has recently increased, the role of the Civil Complaint Counselors has become even more important, and high expectations are placed on their performance during the remaining period of the 8th local government term.


Over the past two years, the counselors have handled a total of 1,572 cases across 11 fields. The breakdown by field is as follows: ▲General Administration 586 cases (37.3%) ▲Roads and Transportation 268 cases (17%) ▲Dong Administrative Welfare Center In-person Consultations 133 cases (8.5%) ▲Architecture and Construction 121 cases (7.7%) ▲Industry, Local Economy, and Redevelopment 107 cases (6.8%) ▲Cleaning and Environment 99 cases (6.3%) ▲Social Welfare 87 cases (5.5%) ▲Parks, Green Spaces, and Rivers 76 cases (4.8%) ▲Health and Hygiene 63 cases (4%) ▲Lifelong Learning and Sports 26 cases (1.7%) ▲Culture, Arts, and Tourism 6 cases (0.4%).


Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “In the second half of the 8th local government term, we will do our best to provide prompt and satisfactory administrative services to citizens through the Civil Complaint Counselor system, and we hope many citizens will make use of this service.”


Meanwhile, the Civil Complaint Counseling Office is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the city hall main building, and any citizen visiting between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. can receive consultations.
