Gwangju City opened the 9th Dahamkke Care Center at Gwangju Station Woobang IU Shell located in Opo 2-dong on the 2nd and has begun full-scale operations. Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that it officially opened and began operating the 9th Dahamkke Care Center at Gwangju Station Woobang IU Shell located in Opo 2-dong on the 2nd.
The 9th Dahamkke Care Center operates for elementary school students (ages 6 to 12) residing in Gwangju who need care. During the school term, it is open from 2 PM to 8 PM, and during vacations, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
In addition to care services, the center provides educational programs including academics, arts and physical education, culture, and experiential activities to help children grow up healthily.
The city expects that the opening of the 9th center will reduce childcare burdens for dual-income families and working single-parent families, contributing to resolving blind spots in childcare services.
Any elementary school student in need of care can apply to use the facility, and the usage fee is 40,000 KRW per month.
Currently, children are being recruited for enrollment, and families wishing to apply can contact the center for guidance.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “With the opening of the 9th Dahamkke Care Center, the quality of care services has been significantly enhanced,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to eliminate gaps in child care.”
