The Cultural Diversity Festival will be held in Changwon on the 11th.
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that the Cultural Diversity Festival MAMF will take place from the 11th to the 13th for three days at Yongji Culture Park, Pojeongsa Park, Seongsan Art Hall, and throughout Jungang-daero.
MAMF is the largest domestic festival in the field of cultural diversity, hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do, Changwon City, Gyeongnam Migrant Labor Welfare Center, and Changwon Cultural Foundation, and organized by the MAMF Organizing Committee.
This year, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the Philippines, the Philippines has been selected as the guest country. The festival will feature a variety of events that embody cultural diversity, including: ▲Day 1 Philippine Special Cultural Performance and Opening Celebration Performance ▲Day 2 MAMF Dance Festival, Wish Bus, My Own Drawing Festival ▲Day 3 Migrants Arirang, Cultural Diversity Parade, and World Music Concert.
Meanwhile, for the safe operation of the event, some sections of Jungang-daero will be controlled, so road users are asked to exercise particular caution during the festival period.
▲From 8 p.m. on October 10 to midnight on the 13th, the section from Changwon KBS Intersection to Gyeongnam Newspaper Company on Jungang-daero toward the Provincial Government ▲From 7 a.m. on the 12th to midnight on the 13th, the section from the Provincial Office of Education to Changwon KBS Intersection on Jungang-daero toward City Hall ▲From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 13th, the section from Gyeongnam Provincial Government to the Choi Yoondeok General Statue in both directions on Jungang-daero will be controlled.
The city plans to minimize inconvenience to citizens by encouraging the use of detour roads through advance publicity, conducting nighttime patrols in the controlled sections, deploying direction-indicating vehicles, and establishing emergency contact networks with related organizations.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "The deep understanding of cultural diversity fostered through MAMF has become the driving force for our city to advance as a global cultural hub," and added, "We ask for citizens' warm cooperation for a safe event, and hope that during the three days of the festival, both migrants and citizens will have a valuable time experiencing the values of coexistence and inclusion."
