Greenplus, a smart farm construction specialist company, announced on the 7th that it has signed an export contract worth approximately 1.5 billion yen (about 1.343 billion KRW) with Daisen, the number one local company in Japan.
The contract involves supplying agricultural equipment needed for an advanced smart farm construction project in Saga Prefecture, Japan, scheduled for early November. A state-of-the-art greenhouse covering a total area of 4,160 pyeong will be established, creating an optimal environment for tomato cultivation. Greenplus plans to complete the smart farm construction by providing a total solution that covers all processes including design, production, and construction beyond just equipment supply.
Greenplus has maintained a close cooperative relationship with Daisen, a leading smart farm company in Japan, for over 20 years. This contract is one of the results of the cooperation accumulated over time. Greenplus has continuously participated in smart farm construction in Japan, strengthening its competitiveness through the experience and know-how accumulated.
Recently, Greenplus signed a smart farm construction contract worth 25.3 billion KRW with Puregreen in Australia, marking the largest single smart farm supply contract since its founding. Furthermore, Greenplus plans to diversify its global portfolio through smart farm orders in several countries including Japan and Australia.
Park Jeong-gi, Executive Director of Greenplus, stated, "With this contract, our export performance to Japan this year has recovered to the pre-COVID stage, reaching 800 million yen (7.3 billion KRW), including last year’s order amount of 470 million yen (4.3 billion KRW)." He added, "Greenplus expects to steadily achieve performance of 8 to 10 billion KRW annually."
