A citizen who subdued and reported Park Daesung (30), who chased and killed a teenage female student walking in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, with a weapon for no reason, recounted the situation at the time. It is known that when the citizen subdued Park Daesung, he asked, "Is this fun? Is it funny?" Also, although Park Daesung told the police that he was drunk and did not remember, the citizen said, "He did not appear to be intoxicated."

On the 6th, JTBC released an interview with Mr. A, who subdued Park Daesung about 1 km away from the crime scene one hour after the high school girl's murder. According to the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage released by JTBC, Park Daesung, wearing long pants, kicked a car parked by the roadside and caused a disturbance. Mr. A, who saw this, recalled, "He (Park Daesung) had a murderous look in his eyes and was in an excited state," and "He swung his fist once to hit my face. Because of his eyes, I thought this was serious."

The police decided on the 30th of last month to disclose Park's personal information, who is accused of stabbing a teenage girl multiple times with a weapon while she was walking in Jorye-dong, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do, considering the public's right to know and the brutality of the method.

Park Daesung suddenly asked Mr. A, "Why did you do that?" and when Mr. A laughed dismissively, Park Daesung asked, "Is this fun? Is it funny?" Mr. A said, "I immediately thought, 'He's going to cause trouble today,' so I reported it," adding, "From then on, I held him and didn't let him go. I said, 'Now I'll use force,' and when I tightened my grip and held both his hands, he couldn't use strength."

At the time, Mr. A did not know that Park Daesung had already committed the crime, and thanks to his subduing Park Daesung and reporting to the police, further damage was prevented. After being arrested by the police, Park Daesung reportedly stated, "I was drunk and don't remember." However, Mr. A said, "He did not appear to be intoxicated. He kicked the car 3 to 5 times. That is something you can't do when you're completely drunk," adding, "When the police arrived, he extended his arms and said, 'Take me away.'"

Meanwhile, the statement that Park Daesung drank four bottles of soju at the time of the crime was confirmed to be false. On the 28th of last month, the police searched Park Daesung's store in Jorye-dong, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do. At the time of the search, the store was closed, and on the table were side dishes and four bottles of soju. Of these, only two bottles were completely empty. Of the remaining two bottles, one had its cap opened but the liquor was still inside, and the other bottle was unopened. The police said, "We went to the store to verify the statement that he drank four bottles of soju," and added, "We have doubts about whether he was intoxicated as he claimed at the time of the crime."
